Puppy in desert camp

 The stars were twinkling

The wind was flowing
We were cold but the starry night brought us at ease

The silence amidst the camp
Whispers of campers
We were listening to the starry starry night
From the film vangogh

Bonfire was arranged
Our body was engaged
To the cold breeze and warm flames

We sat, chat, smiled and we wonder
As the puppy entered carrying the fear in its eyes and draped in all coldness

It shivered with fear,
Roamed seeking peer
I served some comfort
Received a cute rejection

Anonymity was senseable
Familiarity was an effort
We walked away
The puppy cooed
It cooed and cooed
I stopped and looked back
There it was
Staring and raising its tail seeking shelter
I said, come here buddy don't be afraid I am here for you.
It came running
Leaving it's claws print on the sand
Following my invitation brimming with love and comfort

It entered and looked around roamed around
I hold it
Put it to sleep
On a mat
Putting a towel around to raise warmth

It stared me and slept for the rest of the night
I locked the tent
And slept for the rest of the night

I woke up finding the puppy cooing to step out
I said, okay fine you may go but it's cold outside don't come after me running and crying for comfort

I unchained the tent
It felt the same
Puppy ran outside
Discomfort of cold wind
Made him threw himself inside the tent

Welcome home, I said
Raising its tail, it knodded its head
Trying to kiss me it came closer
Slept again on the floor
Showing its best manner

The other morning we had to leave
I found it sleeping in deepest sleep
Breaking his sleep might bring it unease
I left for my morning adventure
Awaiting jeep safari to witness sunrise
The puppy woke up as we walked towards exit
It called out us but we couldn't turn back

It lost it family
The day it found shelter in our shared space
Which was never to be found again
We returned, collected our luggage and waited for it to come back and say good bye.

I wanted to kiss it, hug it and tell it that he will turn out to be the bravest dog in here and that I love him and will miss him.
He was nowhere to be found
No matter how much I look around
